The Atlanta University
Center - The world's oldest and largest consortium of African American
private institutions of higher education, located in the West End District of
Atlanta. Information is provided for users of the Robert W. Woodruff Library of
the Atlanta University Center.
The Carter
Center - The Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia is a nonprofit, nonpartisan
public policy institute founded by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his
wife, Rosalynn, in 1982. The Center is dedicated to fighting disease, hunger,
poverty, conflict, and oppression through collaborative initiatives in the areas
of democratization and development, global health, and urban revitalization. At
present Carter Center programs have touched the lives of people in 65 countries,
including the United States.
